How to tie your belt.
At AITKD, we tie our belts with intention. Watch closely and build strong habits from the beginning. Your uniform and its presentation reflect your discipline, respect, and commitment as a martial artist.
9 Step Blocking Form
9-Step was developed by SGM Keith Yates to provide beginner students a way to practice basic stances and blocks. 9-Step is a part of the Nam Seo Kwon system and has been adopted by AITKD as a required beginner form. AITKD founder Steve Brown, and head instructors Aaron and Jenna Burks are students of the Nam Seo Kwon style and are ranked in the lineage of SGM Keith Yates.
Chon Ji
Chon-ji means Heaven and Earth. It is the name of “The Heavenly Lake” that is on the border of North Korea and China in a volcanic crater on the mountain Paektu-San. It is interpreted as the creation of the world making it the first form practiced in multiple tae kwon do systems, and is known as the first residence of the legendary Dan-Gun before he established his capital at Asadal.
